Analysis of Bhikkhu-khưu Ni
(Bhikkhunivibhanga)




IV. CHAPTER  PĀCITTIYA
(TREATMENT) .4A.VIETNAMESE TRANSLATE ENGLISH BY=VIETNAMESE BUDDHIST NUN=THICH CHAN TANH.

White monks of great virtue, one hundred and sixty-six things  pācittiya  (appeals to treatment)
are given to recite.

The garlic - the first thing:

[147] at that time, the Buddha World Religion dwell in Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monastery of Anāthapiṇḍika. At that time, a certain lay man asked the bhikkhuni assembly for garlic (saying): " Any nuns who have a need for garlic, I offer garlic ." And the field watchman was ordered, " If bhikkhunis come, give each one of them two or three bundles ."

At that time, in Sāvatthi there was a festival. How much garlic has been brought is no longer. The bhikkhunis went to the male layperson and said this:

- Hey friends, there is a need for garlic.

- Ladies and gentlemen, no. Garlic has been brought about as much are all. Please go to the field.

Bhikkhu khưu ni Thullanandā after going to the field did not know in moderation and told to take away a lot of garlic. Farmers complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni after going to the field did not know how much and then sure to bring lots of garlic?

The Bhikkhu khưu ni heard the farmer who complained, criticized, decry. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why the nun Thullanandā did not know how much and then told to bring a lot of garlic?

...(as above)...

-The Bhikkhu khưu, Bhikkhu khưu ni Thullanandā do not know in moderation then told to take away a lot of garlic, right?

- White World Religion, that's right.

The Buddha World Religion rebuked that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, why Bhikkhu khưu ni Thullanandā did not know the extent and then told to take away so much garlic? The Bhikkhu khưu, this incident does not bring confidence to those who do not have faith, or increase the faith of those who have faith. The Bhikkhu khưu, moreover this very work brings unbelief in those who have no faith and changes (beliefs) of some who have faith.

[148] Later, when he rebuked the Bhikkhu khưu ni Thullanandā in many ways, the Buddha gave the Dharma discourse appropriate and appropriate for the Bhikkhu khưu and told the Bhikkhu khưu that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, in the past Bhikkhu khưu ni Thullanandā was the wife of the brahmin and had three daughters Nandā, Nandavatī, and Sundarīnandā. The Bhikkhu khưu, then the Brahmin who after his death was born into the fetus of the swan bird. The bird has a feather made entirely of gold. It gave each of them a feather. The Bhikkhu khưu, then the Bhikkhu khưu ni Thullanandā (think): " This swan gives us each bird a feather " should have grabbed the swan bird bird and has already stripped feathers. The bird's feathers while regrowed were all white. The Bhikkhu khưu, that day Bhikkhu khưu ni Thullanandā because too greedy that gold has been dissipated; Now garlic will be lost.

Bhikkhu khưu ni : ... (as above) ... this nuns are " Bhikkhu khưu ni " mentioned in this sense.

Garlic  means (the herb) belongs to the land of Magadha mentioned.

(Thinking): " I will eat " and then receive the life, then guilty  dukkaṭa  (World). Every time I swallow it, I will commit the crime of  pācittiya  .

[152] Garlic, aware that garlic, chewing nuns committed  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

Garlic, with skepticism, chewing nuns committed  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

Garlic, (mistakenly) thought not to be garlic, nuns chewed guilty  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

Not garlic, (mistakenly) thought garlic, nuns chewing  dukkaṭa  (World).

Not garlic, there is skepticism, nuns chewing  dukkaṭa  (World).

Not garlic, knowing it's not garlic, chewing nuns is innocent.

[153] In the case of onion (palaṇḍuko), red onion (bhañjanako), onion (harītako), shallot leaf (cāpalasuno), cook with soup, cook with meat, cook with cooking oil, vegetables mix, taste appetizing, nuns are crazy, nuns violate first then innocent.

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni shave their hair in a private place, like the girls at home enjoying sex?

The Bhikkhu khưu ni had heard those prostitutes complain, criticize, decry. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni Luc Lu group shave their hair in a private place?

-The Bhikkhu khưu, heard the Bhikkhu khưu ni Lu Professor group shaved in private, right?

The Buddha World Religion rebuked that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, why the Bhikkhu khưu ni group Lu Professor shave in private place so? The Bhikkhu khưu, this incident does not bring confidence to those who do not have faith, ... (as above) ... And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please spread this learning like this: " Bhikkhu khưu ni shave in a private place, guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment). 

[155]  any nuns : any nuns ... (as above) ...

Bhikkhu khưu ni : ... (as above) ... this nuns are " Bhikkhu khưu ni " mentioned in this sense.

A closed space  means two armpits and urination.

Shave : nuns shave (pluck) just a hair, then guilty  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment). Nuns scraping (pluck) many hairs also committed (only one) crime  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

[156] Because of the illness, the nun is crazy, the first nun is innocent.

THE GARLIC - THIRD COURSE:

[157] at that time, the Buddha World Religion dwell in Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monastery of Anāthapiṇḍika. At the time, two bhikkhunis who were frustrated by the displeasure went into the inner room and then rubbed with their palms. The Bhikkhu khưu ni has run again because of the noise and then told the Bhikkhu khưu ni this:

Hey nuns, why are you doing something nasty with men?

Hey monks, we don't do dirty things with men.

Then recounted the incident to the Bhikkhu khưu ni. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni rubbing with the palm?

-The Bhikkhu khưu, heard the Bhikkhu khưu ni perform the rubbing by the palm, right?

The Buddha World Religion rebuked that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, why the Bhikkhu khưu ni made the rubbing with the palm of your hand? The Bhikkhu khưu, this incident does not bring confidence to those who do not have faith, ... (as above) ... And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please disseminate this learning like this: “ When performing rubbing with the palm of your hand  , guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment). 

[158]  The rubbing with the palm of the hand  means that while enjoying the touch, the nun hits (smashes, pats) on the urination even though only by the lotus petals is guilty  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

[159] Because of the illness, the nun is crazy, the first nun is innocent.

The garlic - the fourth thing:

[160] at that time, the Buddha World Religion dwell in Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monastery of Anāthapiṇḍika. At that time, there was a man who was formerly the palace of the king who ordained in the Bhikkhu khưu ni. There are bhikkhunis who were frustrated by the unhappiness that went to meet the Bhikkhu khưu ni, after coming told this bhikkhu this:

- Hey nun, the king will come to her once in a while, how do you endure it?

Hey nun, with short plastic sticks.

- Hey nun, what is a short plastic stick?

Then the Bhikkhu khưu ni explained the short plastic stick for the bhikkhu. After that, the Bhikkhu khưu ni certain after applying short plastic sticks and do not remember to wash and threw them in a corner. The Bhikkhu khưu ni when seeing things being surrounded by flies said like this:

- Whose job is this?

The nun said like this:

- This job is mine.

The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why did Bhikkhu khưu ni apply short plastic sticks?

...(as above)...

-The Bhikkhu khưu, Bhikkhu khưu ni apply short sticks of tree sap, right?

The Buddha World Religion rebuked that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, why khưu Bhikkhu khưu ni apply short plastic sticks so? The Bhikkhu khưu, this incident does not bring confidence to those who do not have faith, ... (as above) ... And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please spread this learning like this: " (Case) short plastic sticks, then guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment). 

[161]  Short stick made from tree sap,  means made of tree sap, made of wood, made of rice flour, made of clay. While enjoying the touch, the nuns put on the urinary tract, even if it is only the lotus petals, they are guilty of  pācittiya  .

[162] Because of the illness, the nun is crazy, the first nun is innocent.

THE GARLIC - FIVE STUDY:

[163] At that time, the Buddha World Religion dwell among the people of the Sākya (Shakyamuni), in the city of Kapilavatthu (Ca-Pi-la-defense), Nigrodha monastery. At that time, Ms. Mahāpajāpati Gotamī went to see the Blessed One, after he came to pay homage to the Blessed One and stood at the bottom of the wind (saying):

- White World Religion, the woman smells rotten.

At that time, the Blessed One (said): " Bhikkhu khưu ni please apply the clean with water " and then taught, awakened, encouraged, and create excitement for Mahāpajāpati Gotamī by Dharma phone. Then, when the Blessed One taught, awakened, encouraged and created excitement with Dharma Talk, Mahāpajāpati Gotamī paid homage to the Blessed One, directed the right shoulder around, and left. After that, the Buddha said that the reason for that event was the Dharma talk and told the Bhikkhu khưu that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, we allow the clean with water to the Bhikkhu khưu ni.

[164] At the time, there was a Bhikkhu khưu ni (think): " The cleaning with water was allowed by the Blessed One " then while applying the cleaning with water too deep, it caused wound on the urinary tract. After that, the Bhikkhu khưu ni recounted the incident to the Bhikkhu khưu ni. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni apply cleaning work with water too deep?

-The Bhikkhu khưu, Bhikkhu khưu ni applied to clean with water too deep, right?

The Buddha World Religion rebuked that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, why Bhikkhu khưu ni apply the cleaning with water so deep? The Bhikkhu khưu, this incident does not bring confidence to those who do not have faith, ... (as above) ... And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please disseminate this learning like this: " Bhikkhu khưu ni while applying the cleaning with water should apply a maximum of two fingers; exceed that limit, then guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment). 

[165]  Cleaning with water  means washing the urinary tract in question.

While applying : during washing.

Up to two fingers should be applied: up to two joints should be applied on two fingers.

Exceeding that limit :  while enjoying the touch, the nun goes beyond even the thin distance of a hair, the guilty  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

[166] When more than two fingers, the awareness is already over, the nuns applied, the crime of  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

When more than two fingers, there is skepticism, the nuns applied the crime of  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

When more than two fingers, (mistakenly) thought to be inferior, the nuns applied the crime of  pācittiya  (Falcon for treatment).

When less than two fingers, (mistakenly) thought to be more, guilty  dukkaṭa  (World).

When less than two fingers, there is doubt,  dukkaṭa  (World).

When less than two fingers, awareness is poor then innocent.

[167] nuns applied a maximum of two fingers, nuns applied a maximum of two fingers, because of the disease, nuns were crazy, the first nuns were innocent.

THE GARLIC - SIXTH STUDY:

[168] at that time, the Buddha World Religion dwell in Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monastery of Anāthapiṇḍika. At the time, there was a great minister named Ārohanta who became a monk at the Bhikkhu khưu. His former wife also ordained at the Bhikkhu khưu ni. At the time, the Bhikkhu khưu he received the distribution of meals when the presence of the Bhikkhu khưu ni. Later, while the Bhikkhu khưu was real life, the Bhikkhu khưu ni was standing close to drinking water and fans and talk secular is talking about jokes at home. At that time, the bhikkhu had dispelled the bhikkhuni (saying):

Then he poured a bowl of drinking water on his head and used a fan. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why did Bhikkhu khưu ni beat Bhikkhu khưu?

And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please disseminate this learning like this: " While the Bhikkhu khưu is real life, any Bhikkhu khưu ni standing near to drinking water or with fans is guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment). 

[169] Any  nuns : any nuns ... (as above) ...

Bhikkhu khưu ni : ... (as above) ... this nuns are " Bhikkhu khưu ni " mentioned in this sense.

(For) Bhikkhu khưu : (for) men who have cultivated to the upper ranks.

Being real life : are eating certain types of soft plants belonging to five types of soft real plants.

Drinking water  means any kind of drinking water.

Fan  means any type of fan.

Standing close : nuns standing within reach is guilty  pācittiya  (Falcon for treatment).

[170] The man has cultivated to the next step, realizing that he has ascended to the next step, the nun standing close to the water and the fan is guilty of  pācittiya  .

The man who has cultivated to the next step has disbelief, the nun standing close to the water and the fan is guilty of  pācittiya  .

The man who has cultivated to the upper step, (mistakenly) thought that he has not cultivated to the upper step, the nun standing close to the water and the fan, is guilty of  pācittiya  (Falcon for treatment).

Nuns after leaving out of reach and then standing guilty  dukkaṭa  (World).

While (the Bhikkhu khưu) is chewing hard objects, nuns stand near the guilty  dukkaṭa  (World).

Nuns standing near men who have not cultivated to the next step are guilty of  dukkaṭa  (World).

The man who has not cultivated to the next step, (mistakenly thought) has cultivated to the next step, committed a crime  dukkaṭa  (World).

The man has not cultivated to the upper step, with skepticism,  dukkaṭa  (World).

The man has not cultivated to the next step, recognizing that he has not cultivated to the next step, committing  dukkaṭa  (World).

[171] nuns surges, nuns tell (others) to give, nuns order people (women) who have not cultivated to the upper ranks, nuns who are crazy, nuns who violate the first offense.

SECTION GOOD - SATURDAY STUDY:

[172] at that time, the Buddha World Religion dwell in Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monastery of Anāthapiṇḍika. At the time of harvest, the bhikkhunis, after asking for the whole grain, took it to the city. At the gate guard, (the guard said):

- Ladies and gentlemen, please contribute.

They kept it and released it. After that, the Bhikkhu khưu ni went to the nunnery and then recounted the incident to the Bhikkhu khưu ni. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni requires whole grain rice?

-The Bhikkhu khưu, heard khưu Bhikkhu khưu ni requires whole grain rice, right?

- White World Religion, that's right.

The Buddha World Religion rebuked that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, why the Bhikkhu khưu ni requires rice intact so? The Bhikkhu khưu, this incident does not bring confidence to those who do not have faith, ... (as above) ... And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please spread this learning like this: " The Bhikkhu khưu ni request, or ask to ask, or grind, or tell to grind, or pound, or retire, or cook, or cook cooked whole grains and then real life is guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment) .

Whole grain  rice means  sāli rice, rice, barley, wheat, millet, beans,  kudrūsaka  (corn?).

(After) retiring : after retiring yourself.

(After) telling : after telling someone to retire.

(After) cooking : after cooking by yourself.

(Thinking): " I will eat " and then receive the life, then guilty  dukkaṭa  (World). Every time I swallow it, I will commit the crime of  pācittiya  .

[174] Because of the illness, the nuns asked for vegetables, the nun went crazy and the nun committed the first offense.

SECTION GARLIC - EARTH THEME STUDY:

[175] at that time, the Buddha World Religion dwell in Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monastery of Anāthapiṇḍika. At that time, there was a brahmin who was a soldier paid by the king (thinking): " I will ask for the salary of that number ", then wash my hair and go to the palace along the nunnery of Bhikkhu khưu ni. There are Bhikkhu khưu ni after defecation into containers and then poured on the other side of the wall has dropped on the head of the brahmin. At that time, the brahmin complained, criticized and decryed:

- These abominable women shave their heads, not as female monks. Why dump waste containers on your head? I will burn the nuns of these women.

Then took the fire tree to the nunnery. There was a male layman who was walking out of the nunnery and saw the brahmin taking the fire and going into the nunnery, after seeing that he told the brahmin:

- Hey, why did you take the fire and go to the nunnery?

- Hey, these filthy shaved women dump waste containers on my head. I will burn these nuns' nunnery.

- Hey, let's go. This is fortunate. And he will achieve that salary of a thousand.

At that time, the brahmin had washed her hair and went to the palace and had attained that salary of one thousand. After that, the male layperson went to the nunnery and told the incident to the bhikkhunis who then criticized him. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why did the Bhikkhu khưu ni pour the dung on the other side of the wall?

-The Bhikkhu khưu, heard the Bhikkhu khưu ni pour the stool on the other side of the wall, right?

- White World Religion, that's right.

The Buddha World Religion rebuked that:

-The Bhikkhu khưu, why the Bhikkhu khưu ni pour shed on the other side of the wall? The Bhikkhu khưu, this incident does not bring confidence to those who do not have faith, ... (as above) ... And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please spread this learning like this: " The Bhikkhu khưu ni poured or told to dump faeces or urine or trash or leftovers on the other side of the wall or the other side of the fence is guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment).

Fecal  means waste is mentioned.

Urine  means the effluent in question.

Garbage  means the sweeping garbage mentioned.

Leftovers  mean things that are chewed off, or pieces of bone, or dirty water in question.

A wall  means there are three types of walls: brick walls, stone walls, and wooden walls.

Fence  means there are three types of fence: brick fence, stone fence, wooden fence.

On the other side of the wall : the opposite side of the wall.

On the other side of the fence :  the opposite side of the fence.

Rejection : the nuns themselves abandon, the more guilty of  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

Bao poured out : the nuns ordered others to dump it, then  dukkaṭa  (World). Is ordered once, although (the other) poured many times (you ordered) committed (only one) guilty  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

[177] nuns poured out after the review, the nuns abandoned the place is not the way, the nun is crazy, the first nun is innocent.

THE GARLIC - NINE STUDY

[178] at that time, the Buddha World Religion dwell in Sāvatthi, Jetavana, monasteries of Anāthapiṇḍika. At the time, the barley field of the brahmin was adjacent to the nuns of the Bhikkhu khưu ni. The Bhikkhu khưu ni put waste, urine, garbage, and leftovers in the field. At that time, the brahmin complained, criticized and decryed:

-Why did bhikkhunis dirty our barley field?

The Bhikkhu khưu ni heard the brahmin who complained, criticized and decry. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni put waste, urine, garbage, and leftovers on green grass?

Hey khưu, heard khưu Bhikkhu khưu ni pour waste, urine, garbage, and leftovers on green grass, right?

- White World Religion, that's right.

The Buddha World Religion rebuked that:

Hey khưu Bhikkhu, why the Bhikkhu khưu ni pour waste, urine, garbage, and leftovers on green grass? The Bhikkhu khưu, this incident does not bring confidence to those who do not have faith, ... (as above) ... And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please spread this learning like this: " Bhikkhu khưu ni poured or told to dump faeces or urine or trash or leftovers on green grass is guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment). 

[179]  any nuns : any nuns ... (as above) ...

Bhikkhu khưu ni : ... (as above) ... this nuns are the " Bhikkhu khưu ni " mentioned in this sense.

Fecal  means waste is mentioned.

Green grass, (mistakenly) thought that it was not green, and the nuns discarded it or told it to fall, then they would commit  pācittiya  .

Not a green grass, (mistakenly) thought to be a green grass, guilty  dukkaṭa  (World).

Not the green grass, there is doubt,  dukka phạma  (World).

It is not greenery, awareness is not innocent.

[181] nuns poured out after the review, nuns dumped in the corner of the field, nuns poured out after asking after asking permission from their employer, the nun is crazy, the first nun is innocent .

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni go to see dance music, like the girls at home enjoy sex?

The Bhikkhu khưu ni have heard those people complain, criticize, decry. The Bhikkhu khưu ni less desire, ... (as above) ..., the nuns complain, criticize, decry that:

-Why the Bhikkhu khưu ni Luc Lu group went to see dance music?

Hey khưu, heard the Bhikkhu khưu ni Luc Su group to see dance music, is that right?

The woman has not cultivated to the next step, (mistakenly) thought to have ascended to the next step, committing  dukkaṭa  (World).

And the Bhikkhu khưu, the Bhikkhu khưu ni please spread this learning like this: " Bhikkhu khưu ni who curse themselves or others about hell or about Pham Hanh guilty pācittiya (Falcon treatment).

[215] The woman who has cultivated to the next step, realizing that she has cultivated to the next step, nuns cursed about hell or about conduct, is guilty of  pācittiya  (Falcon treatment).

The woman who had cultivated to the upper stage, had the skepticism, the nun who cursed about hell or about virtue, sinned  pācittiya  (Falcon for treatment).

The woman who has cultivated to the upper order, (mistakenly) thought that she has not cultivated to the upper step, the nun cursed about hell or about virtue is committing  pācittiya  (Falcon for treatment).

Nuns curse about being born as an animal or about the realm of hungry ghosts or about the unlucky part of the human being is guilty of  dukkaṭa  (World).

Nuns curse women who have not cultivated to higher levels in hell or about virtue, then  dukkaṭa  (World).

The woman has not cultivated to the next step, (mistakenly) thought to have ascended to the next step, committing  dukkaṭa  (World).

The woman has not cultivated to higher levels, there is cynicism,  dukkaṭa  (World).

The woman has not cultivated to the next step, recognizing that she has not cultivated to the next step, committing  dukkaṭa  (World).

[216] nuns (speak to) mention the meaning, nuns (speak to) mention Dharma, nuns (speak) aim for teaching, nuns go crazy, nuns violate the first evening.

THE SHADOW - THE TEN LESSON:
