The role and duties of the abbot.


 

The old virtues often say: "Legs of royal family, like Lai Lai"  (the building and building of the Dharma, keep promoting the Dharma of the Tathagata) We find that the person responsible for the abbot of a temple is very important, it decides the fortune, existence and development of the local Buddhist base. In the past, Buddhism was not a strong or weak organization, but a monastic institution.When the base, guiding the Buddhist at home or the practice, the Buddhist place flourishing, while the base of the monastery has developed on the basis of the temple to large Buddhist activities. But not the person who specializes in Buddhism will decline. We can be so old: All controversial views, views, must be harassed in the Buddhist era, to go to the distribution is due to lack of training. This is not only the Sangha that Buddhists at home if the lack of tuition, they are organized together in the form of a group, then the other board also broke because of discord due to lack of tu. So in the United States - the Buddha taught: "People are more because can make good things"  (the evening's marketing goals, performance measures sentient beings trying charity). The Buddha said that we can understand that human beings are the important factor to do good, but also man himself creates bad things.
It can be said that the role of the abbot here becomes crucial in the cause of belief in Buddhism, so that everyone has a good view of Buddhism. In return, the abbot will be the  " "  one of the crimes of discrediting Buddhists at home. Looking at Buddhism is not without. So what does the abbot do to meet the pressing needs of our society today?
This may be a question, but it is also a question that today is not so long ago when the congregation was formed, especially during the Buddhist ecclesiastical period. All those who left home and at home thinking of the Buddha's teaching in the propagation of the Dharma of the Tathagata are hoping for prosperity, but how to contribute to that flourishing, is the problem. It is unknown if there is no human hand, but the key is still the spiritual leader at the base. Here we writers have no ambition to present a method that can help the abbot to make the Dharma flourish. We want to present some thoughts on this issue so that we can help. Abbots think more about the 21st century Buddhist era.
I. The Abbot with the mission of spreading the Fa

a) Must have the spirit of discharge  (good, evil):  always keep the good things contribute to build the morality of the social community, grasp the security of the base, nothing obstacle. Discouraged, nothing accomplished that complacent. 
b) Must have Human:  Guided by the religious renunciation, must develop faith educators guide all faithful, build the spirit of religious life. 
c) Must have Minh:  Keep the precepts of the meaning, put the security of the director on the security of self, decisive, using the close (the servant) to take care of the spiritual development. Harmony created more and more attached to the work of the greater Buddha. 
d) Must have Dung: He must be enthusiastic and enthusiastic with the work of the Buddha, not difficult difficulties, obstacles, determined will, determined definitely. Four factors above are enough Buddhist temples prosperity that is open wide, lacking one of the four weaknesses in the time, the lack of time people as abbot all the broken, Buddhist base difficult to develop.
II. Carrying out the guiding principles of human heart
1)  It is possible to say that the spirit of the Buddha is to transform (transform and rejuvenate) so that they move from the unborn to become the body, the opposition becomes the present as we often say "READ TAN "with two methods:
a) Self-healing: The  self-evangelist must always cultivate himself, perfect his personality as a model for everyone around him. As the Dharma practice Buddha taught:
"No one makes us pure. 
No one makes us impure. 
It is us who make us pure. 
We ourselves make us unclean."
To let everyone follow with them, the most important thing is to show  "Trivia or merit together" (words and deeds must go together)  if not done this way. People are just illusions that can never be done for a long time. If you are cleverly hiding in the early stages but then the time when the truth you tried to create outside, people also get the truth.
b) Being sad:  Recalling people in six ways to guide them into  "belonging . " 
- Life insurance:  Keeping up with the new mind. 
- Increasing the life expectancy:  Depending on the living environment that teaches people the more the faith is firmly unshaken. 
- Photography:  We are the leader of the masses, responsible for guiding people in practicing proper Dharma so they do not fall into our way. 
- Photographic period:  We have merciless nature to guide them in a short time they can receive. 
- School of Photography: Those who are slow to realize many obstacles, requires us to have long persistence, to be able to feel. 
- Ultimate photographers:  There is an ideal purpose pursued to the end without the time of discouragement, decay on the road of people's chemistry.
To carry out the path of spreading the Dharma of the Buddha is the result of the role of the abbot, the enthusiasm is not enough but must be expressed in concrete action.
2) Implement the path of love:
a) To give, to give gifts to the feeling:  There are three ways: material, Buddhism, fearless spirit. 
b) Use of language to influence:  the abbot must have the art of communicating with the language of peace we can say it is the  "language of communication . 
c) Eating and Inspiration:  Through friendship, religion and homosexuality, it is in the interests of making people friendly to lead the faithful. 
d) Using the intimacy to feel:  It is in living in a simple life, we can honestly affect people easily according to their living circumstances.
IV. Conclude
Whose mission is the abbot of a infrastructure of the Church, which communicates directly with the masses Buddhists more diverse composition of society, the missionaries are also many different ways  , "the level of grace"  not necessarily "rigid" according to a certain pattern because Dharma is  "legal uncertainty" . But to say that does not mean that regardless of the moral conduct of the monk, we must consider and bring the true mind to all people, otherwise it becomes unethical. hurts to Dao but also makes his own career break down.
