THE PERSONALITY OF THE MONSTER. Buddhist education was discovered by the Buddha nearly 26 centuries ago. It is an education of wisdom, of love, giving people enthusiasm to live, a moral life, a noble spiritual life, a life of purity, purity, and tolerance... The Enlightened One established a group of monks, who vow to live a life of awareness, always observing and analyzing, firmly based on the facts of life, including spiritual life, to have a view as truth about life, not being degraded by the material illusion of life. However, in the context of today's crisis of society, caught up in the whirlwind of material civilization, a vibrant foreign culture, the ethical conduct of monks is facing great challenges. The monk's personality is more concerned than ever, because that is the lifeline, the existence of the Buddhadharma. As Buddha's children, we cannot be indifferent to life, do not ask for material happiness, do not seek unrighteousness, but daily practice the Buddha's teachings and cultivate. Dignity is expressed in the reciprocal relationship with people, with the collective, with society and with the surrounding natural world in all views through the past, present and future. The personality of a monk is very necessary to achieve a pure bhikkhu and develop the Sangha. In other words, the monk's personality is the life force of the Sangha, and the guideline for the Sangha's activities. BASIC FACTORS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PERSONALITY A monk is a "guru of the gods", a teacher of heaven and a man who needs to build a perfect personality and a virtuous model. As the Buddha once taught the bhikkhus at Alabegila about the relative personality of human beings: "The head of the household has eight dharmas, the friends and relatives. What are the eight? The head of the household has few desires, there is faith, there is good faith, and there is one thing. precious, diligent, mindful, concentrated, and wise. "What is the cause of saying that the head of a household is evil? The heads of the household often practice shame. What is shameful is shameful, ashamed of the evil and unwholesome, the defilements and defilements lead to the life of the evil retribution, the root of birth and death. Saying that the head is fake, it is because of that reason. "What is the cause of saying that the head of a noble is precious? The head of a householder often behaves with shame. What is shameful is shameful, ashamed of evil, unwholesome, defilements and afflictions that lead to evil retribution, creating a root of rebirth. Saying that a false head is precious is because of that reason. "What is the cause of saying that a false head is diligent? The false head of state often acts diligently, eliminate evil and unwholesome, cultivate good dharma, have the idea of sitting up, single-mindedly and firmly, create good roots, never give up diligence. To say that the false head is diligent is because of that. (Middle A Ham, Sutra of the Head of the Elders II, The Virtue of Tang Huu Phap, translation by TT Thich Tue Sy) The personality of a monk is also built and formed by the basic qualities of the mind, manners, morality, humility, tolerance. The mind is the ideal of life, the motives, the value orientations, the life philosophies, the beliefs of each monk with the "heavy shape of the mind, the introduction of the dragon holy race, which is super-prosperous". In order to realize such ambition, it is important in the monk's personality to train an increasingly pure mind, good direction, benevolent, tolerant, and free from defilements and defilements in the mind. awake. The Buddha taught that, if a person practices the 10 unwholesome things, their life is immoral and at the same time does not achieve the goal of happiness: "Bhikkhus, killing living beings, taking what is not given, engaging in wrong conduct in sensual pleasures, lying, double-tongued, cruel speech, frivolous talk, greed, anger, and wrong views, these are called illegal and aimless" (Sutra of Tang Chi III). He advised people to live in accordance with the 10 good things, to live in accordance with ethical principles and the law of happiness. The Buddha said: "Bhikkhus, due to greed, hatred, and delusion, one kills, takes what is not given, engages in sexual misconduct, lies, speaks with two tongues, speaks cruelly, and speaks frivolously. Thus, greed is the cause for the arising of kamma, anger is the cause for the arising of kamma, delusion is the cause for the arising of kamma; conversely, when greed, hatred, and delusion cease, kamma ceases. (Sutra of Tang Chi III). Personality development is the deepening and broader development of the three virtuous and unwholesome motives within this mind. Buddhism focuses on mental motivation, or mental karma, which does not mean disregarding deeds and words. Buddhism often delves into the mental dynamics of people. These mental dynamics become the preventive personality and make the monk holy. Those who can control them right away, Eyes, ears, nose, tongue: infinitely good!, Moreover, can control the body, As well as speech and mind, In general, truly ingenious! Which bhikkhu is himself really good, Having conquered all these points, Suffering is liberated, and damnation is gone. (Dharma Rule 361) As a genuine monastic, we first need to understand the importance of a disciplined life, rules, and precepts. Without discipline in the spiritual life, it is difficult for us to overcome afflictive desires. Because, deluded sexual ideas like crazy buffalo can seduce and entice us into the devil's way. Many people want to transform themselves, but the habit of many lives keeps pushing them on the path of perversion, because they are not clever in organizing a structured and orderly life. Therefore, when about to enter Nirvana, the Buddha taught his disciples to take the precepts as teachers. Indeed, the precepts are the great teachers of the Buddha's disciples. No matter what method we are practicing, we must follow the Three-way path of learning, which is Precepts - Concentration - Wisdom. Keeping the precepts is to stop all evil deeds, do all good deeds, and create for yourself a basic moral life. If a monastic wants to build a high wisdom building, he must build a solid foundation of precepts. How much good and evil have been overcome, Pure cultivation, sublime manners, Living full of knowledge in the world, Worthy to be called a bhikkhu. (Dharma Dhammapada 267) An unvirtuous person is like a bird that learns human language, and the teachings uttered by that monk become cake, but the cake is full of hunger! Without precepts one cannot return. with fully enlightened mind. The enlightened mind is the Buddha mind. Therefore, in the law it was said: "The human world gives birth to concentration, the human mind develops wisdom. The second is to achieve the holy path, regardless of whether or not you leave home, you will be happy." Actively keeping the forbidden precepts is the first and basic content, which is always promoted and reminded throughout the life of a monastic. From that first basic step, the new monastic person deserves to be the eldest son of the Tathagata, a Dharma weapon in the Sangha, bringing the Buddha Dharma to build the world, making the Buddha Dharma clear, and all sentient beings imbued with it. Thank you Dharma dance. When a bhikkhu is pure in language, he speaks wisely, and avoids conceited speech. When he preaches the Dharma, it is sweet, It is so sweet and so clear. (Dharma Rule 363) PERSONAL PERFORMANCE That perfection of character is the process of a bhikkhu's cultivation effort on the basis of alert attention during the day and at night, in actions that clear the mind of dhamma obstacles: "Disciple Gotama, Always self-aware, Regardless of day or night, Always remember the true Dharma" (Dharma Law 297). The sequential path of practice, the Mathematical Sutra of Muc Kien Lien (Middle A-function 144) and the Ganaka Moggallana Sutra (the Central Sutra 107) give the following: a. A bhikkhu keeps the precepts, lives a restrained life with the restraint of the precepts, has a righteous posture, sees danger in minor faults, takes and observes and learns the precepts. b. The bhikkhu sustains the senses, When the eye sees form, it does not hold its own characteristics, does not hold its general characteristics, what causes craving and grief to arise, then overcome and eliminate that cause, sound, and scent... as well. c. Monks are moderate in eating and drinking, rightly observing eating not for fun, indulgence, or adornment for the body, but only to avoid harming the body, in order to preserve the holy life... d. The bhikkhu is trained to be alert by day as well as by night, in actions that clear the mind of dhamma hindrances. e. Bhikkhus who are trained in mindfulness and awareness in all body movements when walking, standing, lying down...are aware of what they are doing. f. A bhikkhu is trained to sit in meditation in a secluded place, with his back cross-legged, resting in front of him, cleansing his mind from the five hindrances... from the first to the fourth meditation... We also cannot expect to reach the absolute truth when wisdom is still dim and incompetent. "The stage of study before the eyes of monks and nuns is a period of heavy responsibility for the flourishing of the Buddhadharma. awareness of the Dharma will clear up a monk's thoughts and feelings. Otherwise, what is expected is murky." (HT. Chan Thien). Therefore, study and practice are indispensable for every young monk to see clearly and achieve wisdom. Layman Chanh Tri - Mai Tho Truyen also said: "To cultivate without learning is to practice blindly, to study without practicing is to be wise." From there, we can see: "If you cultivate, you will have a sustainable path, if you study, you will have wisdom. more light." With that wish, lay people have become one of the enthusiastic people in the Buddhist revival movement, equipping monks and Buddhists with knowledge to perfect their personalities. The Ana-Law-Baptism says: "The venerable Ana Luat sat on the bank of a deserted stream and thought, 'The Way is a matter of few desires, much desire is not the Dharma. The Dharma is the Dharma. Knowing just enough, not knowing enough is not the Dharma. The Dharma is quiet, noisy, and pleasurable, not the Dharma. The Dharma is progressive, laziness is not the Dharma. The Way is to control the mind and mind. Distracted mind is not the Dharma. The Dharma is the single-minded intention, the vague thoughts are not the Dharma. The Dharma is the wisdom and killing, the foolishness and confusion are not the Dharma.' The Buddha, using his holy wisdom, knew these thoughts of the Venerable A-Na-Luat, so like the agile arm of an athlete, he came before the venerable, praising him, saying: 'That's right. , A-Na-Law! A-Na-Law! What you think are the thoughts of a Great Being (great bodhisattva)!'" The monk goes against the habits of life, away from mistakes and sufferings, leaves home, fields, clothes, and seats of the world and enters the Buddha's house, puts on his robes and sits on his throne, on the Buddha's throne. The stance of all dharmas is not to bring gentleness and patience to use great compassion. As the Great Vehicle-Dharma-Law-Flower Sutra teaches: "Enter the Tathagata's house, put on the Tathagata's robes, sit on the Tathagata's throne. The Tathagata's house is the heart of great compassion. compassion towards all beings. The robe of the Tathagata is gentle and patient. The seat of the Tathagata is that all dharmas are empty." Thus, ENTERING INTO LIFE We need to think more closely about life, through the interaction between people and society, step by step practice from building a perfect part of society with the spirit of noness. selfless, as the meaning: "Neither birth nor death, Birth and death is Nirvana, what is attained is not attained, Neither grasp nor let go." Today's monks need to have a good religious life to be able to gradually develop unscrupulous wisdom, go into society to transform human suffering. Therefore, Buddhism with the spirit of contract has manifested in many flexible forms and conforms to the motto 'Buddhist dharma is inseparable from world dharma', 'The closest ideal silhouette of Buddhism. a monk must be a shadow of a Nagarjuna, of a Xuanzang, a Van Hanh with a frugally and arduous life, but his will is as firm as a diamond; his virtue is humble and patient; his vows are not. As vast as the sea, a monk needs to have bright eyes that shine with faith, radiant with energy, an undying smile, and a light-hearted view of suffering to clarify the bright truth of Buddhism.' From perfecting personality, a monk with wise and loving eyes looks at life and benefits people. The path that the Buddhas have opened, the venerable ones have gone through, now is the time for us young monks and nuns to step in, walk on it, will take peaceful, unattached steps for our peace and happiness. majority. Because of great compassion, incarnation of impermanence, because of the vow to benefit others, to commit to bringing love, For the truth to penetrate deeply, all sentient beings are imbued with the pervasive source of magic, bringing peace to all beings. The Buddha encouraged the bhikkhus to preach the Dharma. He often taught: "Go, monks, bring good to many, bring happiness to many. Out of compassion, bring goodness, benefit and happiness to the gods. and humanity. Let each one go his own way (…) Raise the banner of the wise. Teach the sublime Dharma. Bring good to others. Alright then, you have completed the task.” In short, cultivating a monk's personality is indispensable in any era. more than ever, immersed in material things, spiritually and morally on the decline, the role of a monk with personality is more meaningful than ever.Only monks with personality can solve problems problems of the times such as moral decadence, stress, paranoia...of oneself and others.Buddha once emphasized in the five aggregates, although the form body is the basis of feeling, perception, and action. consciousness, but all events in life from the creation to destruction of the world are caused by the mind. People need to open their wisdom with a correct view of the nature of life and practice methods for the real mind to develop to a state of no-flow. That wisdom vision will be strengthened and the creative mind source will be awakened through the practice of meditation as the main practice, implementing the Buddhist path to liberation. It is the highest perfection of the monk's personality. Therefore, let's perfect the monk's personality as taught by the Blessed One, before going away, once reminded: "Bhikkhus!
